So it made sense to adopts a blade-like face design, to extend to the hybrids the same sense of security golfers feel with Miura irons. Now, the more advanced player can work a hybrid into his bag confidently and hit the shot he intends, instead of wondering whether the flight will flare off line.

About Katsuhiro Miura and His Golf Clubs

Katsuhiro Miura was born in 1942, in Himeji City, Japan. He began to create golf irons at the young age of 16, and later he founded Miura Giken Company Limited when he was 23 years old. Himeji City is home to Himeji Castle, which was built over 400 years ago and defended by powerful Samurai yielding masterfully forged iron swords. This region became known as the "Steel Region of Japan" for the finest steel available. Himeji is home to the first Japanese forged irons, built in 1928 by a master sword craftsman, creating a legacy that stands today.

Miura believes in two fundamental principles of design, technical design and transition design.

TECHNICAL DESIGN
The golf club must "work" in a technical sense. The technical design includes variables such as size, weight, center of gravity, balance, bounce, and of course the size and location of the "sweet spot."

TRANSITIONAL DESIGN
The second principle is the "transition design" of the club from long irons through middle irons through short irons. The Miura designed clubs are unsurpassed in manner in which they accomplish this transition through a combination of adjustment to loft, lie, weight, and design leaving the golfer as confident with a 3 iron as he or she is with a 7 iron.

Master craftsman Katsuhiro Miura, who is often referred to in the Japanese media as having the "Hands of God", actually works hands-on in his factory every day, and even grinds the club heads himself as well. Miura's endless pursuit for the perfect club has brought to the world over 10 series of Miura clubs.

Miura's knowledge has now been passed down to his sons, continuing the Miura tradition for many years to come. Master craftsman are used to build the club heads, not computers. Miura clubs are never mass produced, and each club head is individually inspected for weight and design, then it is adjusted to precision before it leaves the factory, providing unparalleled craftsmanship that has created the standard that all other forgings are measured.

When golfers see a Miura club for the first time, and actually hold it in their hands, there is a common shared experience - LOVE at first sight. And like trying to define love, no words can seem to describe the absolute exhilaration one gets from swinging a Miura club, it is something that one needs to FEEL to discover.

Miura offers putters, wedges, irons, hybrids, fairway woods, drivers, and accessories. Each design is meticulously researched and developed at Miura. Their forging process is world renowned as the best.
